Student Web Activity Answers
  1. It is customary in Egypt to refuse the first invitation. If the offer is sincere and not just made out of politeness, it will probably be repeated, and then it can be accepted. You must keep a promise to visit an Egyptian home, because not doing so would humiliate the person inviting you.
  2. Egypt's six major tourist sites offer beautiful beaches; urban areas with hotels, restaurants, and entertainment; monuments; and museums.
  3. Cairo and Luxor and their surrounding areas include pyramids and other famous monuments, early Christian sites, and medieval Islamic sites.
  4. Tutankhamun's tomb is probably the most famous tomb in the Valley of the Kings. It was built quickly because Tutankhamun died at age 19, so his tomb is not as elaborate as others.
  5. Students' brochures will vary but should include information about the customs, historical sites, and cultural and recreational activities available in Egypt.
