Chapter 17: Manufacturing in the 21st Century

Career: Salesperson

Directions: Look up the career in the Occupational Outlook Handbook and fill out the following:


1.		Nature of the Work. What does a person in this career do?



2.		Education and Training. What is the minimum education or training needed for this career?



3.		Employment. How many people have this career? In what fields do they work?



4.		Working Conditions. What are the working conditions for this career?



5.		Earnings. What is the median salary? (If median salary is not available, list the median hourly earnings instead.)



6.		Further Learning. Chapter 17 discusses the need to be assertive in the workplace. Assertiveness can also be valuable when trying to get a job. In a job interview, you need to show confidence and present your qualifications in a positive way. Research the interviewing process and list ways to show assertiveness during an interview.
