About Virtual Business

Virtual Business is a fully visual marketing and business simulation that introduces students to the principles of business and finance. The visual simulation is based on research conducted by Knowledge Matters, Inc., for the U.S. Department of Education. Retailing 2.0 is a retailing simulation of a convenience store and is an excellent way to supplement your curriculum.

The Virtual Business CD-ROM contains the Virtual Business software, an interactive tutorial, pre-saved modular activities with lesson plans, and the Virtual Business Analyzer companion software for post-activity classroom analysis and discussion. Students can also utilize additional online tools at www.knowledgematters.com/.

A "Multiplayer" Add-On enables students to have head-to-head competitions over a network. Students compete in the same virtual economy LIVE against other students in your school via your local area network or against other students anywhere in the world using the Internet.

The Virtual Business CyberConsultant utilizes artificial intelligence to review eight aspects of the business and provides critical advice to increase market share and profits. As a teaching tool, the CyberConsultant individually grades eight aspects of the business and assigns an overall grade.
