The Peace of Wild Things

In Wendell Berry’s poem “The Peace of Wild Things,” the speaker tells how going down to the water to watch the birds and stars makes him feel comforted. Is there an outdoor place that you enjoy and that helps you escape the pressures of daily life? Write a short poem about your favorite outdoor place. Berry’s poem uses enjambment, or the continuation of a sentence from one line of the poem into the next line. Use enjambment in your poem to help with the flow of your language and ideas.
