Time

The main character in Joseph Bruchac’s poem “Time” is a mink, an animal that is portrayed as a thief in Native American folklore. In Bruchac’s poem, the mink steals the sun so that the people can have light, and then he steals time. The irony, or unexpected twist, is that instead of the mink owning time, time controls him and everyone else. Write a short tale with a mink character who steals something seemingly desirable but in the end experiences an unexpected consequence.
