Reading-Writing Connection Activities

1.

A Noiseless Patient Spider

Free verse has no boundaries, patterns, or rules. While poets writing in free verse do not concern themselves with rules of meter, rhythm, and rhyme, they do weave other literary devices into their poems, including symbolism and figurative language such as similes and metaphors. Using free verse, write a poem about an inspiring creature of nature either real or imagined.
