Julius Caesar, Act 3

Antony’s speech beginning on line 206 of Scene 2 uses persuasive techniques common to modern advertising, including emotional and logical appeals. Write a brief argumentative essay analyzing which type of form of persuasion, emotional or logical, is more effective. Reread the speech and find lines that indicate whether the appeals are logical—aimed at the audience’s intellect—or emotional—aimed at the audience’s hearts. In your essay, anticipate counterarguments or objections your audience may have, and use evidence from the speech to address these issues.
