Bread

Think about your favorite food. Freewrite for a few minutes about this food. Think of different people who may enjoy this food, where they might eat it, and with whom they might share it. Review Margaret Atwood’s “Bread,” and then use your freewriting to construct three scenes in which your food is at the center. Use the second-person point of view as Atwood does. Try varying the mood of each scene so that they contrast in an interesting and provocative way.
