Sonnet 116 and Sonnet 130

Both of these poems address aspects of love that go beyond superficial qualities. What are some traits of people you are fond of that go deeper than how they look? What are some characteristics of relationships you value that you feel are long lasting? Make two lists of qualities to answer these questions. Then use your lists to write a sonnet about a real relationship you cherish or an ideal fictional one. Remember, a Shakespearean sonnet consists of three four-line stanzas followed by a pair of rhyming lines.
