The main ideas in this poem are expressed in paradoxes. A paradox is a statement that appears to be contradictory but is actually true. An example of a paradox is the statement “The best way to hold on to something is to let it go.” Use the Internet to find some famous paradoxes. Choose one and write a brief essay identifying the contradictory elements and explaining the essential meaning of the paradox. Then come up with your own paradox.
