Eve’s Apology

One definition of apology—the one that applies to the title of this poem—is “defense” or “justification.” The author is not “apologizing” for Eve’s action; just the opposite. According to Lanyer, Adam was “most to blame” in the fall of humankind from grace. Think of another situation in which one person or group tends to get blamed for something. Write an apology—or defense—of this person or group in poetic form using this selection as a model.
