1.

The World is Too Much With Us and Composed Upon Westminster Bridge

These poems are examples of Petrarchan, or Italian, sonnets. In a Petrarchan sonnet, the first eight lines, or octave, describe a problem or situation. The last six lines, or sestet, suggest a resolution. Think of a problem you have encountered and what you did to solve it. Then write a Petrarchan sonnet based on this experience.
