Lucinda Matlock and Fiddler Jones

Write a dramatic monologue of your own in which your title is the name of a character. You might choose a character from literature, such as a short story you have read, or a character from real life or a movie. In your poem, use details that reveal the character of the person you have chosen. The speaker in your poem could be the character in the title, in which case you would write your poem using the first-person point of view, as in “Lucinda Matlock.” Or your speaker could be addressing the character in the title, in which case you would write your poem using the third-person point of view, as in “Fiddler Jones.”
