The Tale of ‘Kiko-Wiko

This graphic story by Mark Crilley takes elements that are common to fairy tales and does something surprising and funny. Think of fairy tales that you know and enjoy. Identify the elements that many of these stories share: a princess or maiden in distress; fantastic creatures, such as dragons; a fairy godmother; an evil witch; animals that can talk; and so on.

Decide on a well-known fairy tale that you could retell as a graphic story similar to “The Tale of ‘Kiko-Wiko.” Retell your chosen story in a surprising and interesting way. Write a script of dialogue that you would include in the speech balloons for your characters.
