Glory, Glory … , Birds Circling at Dusk, and Bamboo Grove

A traditional haiku has three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven syllables in the second line, and five syllables in the third line. Decide which of these three haiku is your favorite. Write a short paragraph explaining your choice. Then find other students who also picked the same haiku. Share your paragraph with your group. Discuss what each of you enjoyed most about the poem.
