Introduction
Students have read about types of stages. Before they complete the image identification activity, you may wish to have students sketch the three basic types of stages from memory and add as many details as they can.

Lesson Description
Students will complete an image identification activity to reinforce the concepts and definitions of the three basic stage types.

Instructional Objectives
1. Students will read word clues and indicate which diagram each clue describes.
2. Students will demonstrate their visual and contextual knowledge of the three basic types of stages.

first image (of proscenium stage): proscenium stage, most common stage in schools, an arch is used
second image (of arena stage): arena stage, also called "central staging," audience sits on all sides
third image (of thrust stage): thrust stage, stage extends into seating area, audience sits on three sides
