Introduction
In a debate, each team puts forth its arguments and rebuttals on a given issue. The affirmative and negative speakers each have a chance to state and give reasons for their positions and to challenge the opposing viewpoints.

In the Policy Debate column, scroll down to the last debate in the column: Should English be the official language of the United States?

Watch and listen to five minutes from each of the three parts of the debate. After you have listened to segments of the debate, answer the following questions.
