Introduction
In Chapter 3, you've studied effective listening strategies and the roadblocks to listening. In this activity you will listen to an interview conducted by NPR journalist Renee Montagne with John Leland, author of Hip: the History. Leland and Montagne discuss Leland's definition of Hip, his theory of the evolution of hip, and those individuals, characters, or groups that exemplify hip. Be sure to practice using the effective listening strategies, and think about any listening roadblocks that you encounter.
