Activity Lesson Plans

Introduction
Students have learned eight prefixes and roots derived from Latin and Greek words for some numbers. Before students begin the activity, you might have them choose one of the prefixes and brainstorm for additional words that begin with it.

Lesson Description
Students will identify six prefixes and roots from the lesson by completing an Identification activity. To get directions, they can click on the How to Play button. After finishing the activity, they can check their work.

Instructional Objectives

  1. Students will choose prefixes and roots from a randomly ordered list and match them to their definitions.
  2. Students will recall the meanings of prefixes and roots to make correct matches.
