Lesson Description
Students will visit the Roller Coaster page on the Amusement Park Physics site and use information they find there to write short answers to three questions.

Instructional Objectives

  1. Students will explore the topic of roller coasters by visiting the Amusement Park Physics Web site.
  2. Students will use their understanding of vocabulary words to answer three short-answer questions about roller coasters.

Web Quest Activity Answers

  1. A roller coaster gets its kinetic energy when it descends the first hill.
  2. Tubular steel coasters have steeper, more undulating hills than wooden coasters.
  3. Wooden roller coasters sway a lot more than steel coasters.
