Parole Officer
The main job of the parole officer is to monitor offenders released into the community. Good people skills are extremely important because parole officers deal with all kinds of people with a variety of problems. If they are working with juveniles, they have to be able to handle the young person as well as his or her family. How can you find out if this career field is for you? You might try volunteering at a social service agency, such as a halfway house or a rehabilitation center. You will be able to practice your people skills and give something back to the community.
