Introduction To Physical Science

Unit 3: Chemistry

Chemical Reaction demo

Introduction:

Chemical reactions change starting materials into different substances. Sometimes materials must absorb energy before a reaction will occur, but some reactions release energy. How many different chemical reactions do you use in daily life?

Students will visit these sites to learn more about chemical reactions. Have them view the demonstration videos and try some of the experiments.

Alternative:

Project the demonstrations so that the class can watch them together. Select some of the experiments and provide materials for students to conduct them in class.
