School and work have some common features, but they are very different in some ways. Lifelong learning is important in today's rapidly changing workplace. You can prepare for your future career by gaining a wide variety of experiences and developing transferable skills.

People tend to make better career decisions when they understand their interests, skills, desired lifestyles and aptitudes. You can research careers using a career cluster system, exploratory interviews and print and online resources. Experiencing a career firsthand is one of the best ways to learn about it. The job market is constantly changing so continuous learning is extremely important.
