4. Emphasize how telling the bully to stop, ignoring the bully, or telling an adult about the bully can all be effective strategies. Your activity should not suggest that children fight back, as that may make the harassment worse.

Section 8.2

Review Key Concepts
1. Cliques are groups that exclude others from their circle of friendship. They should be avoided because they treat others cruelly.

2. Friendships take effort; strong relationships require spending time with friends, listening to them, and offering to help them when needed. Make good decisions when choosing friends and be willing to offer your friendship as well as accepting theirs.

3. Answers will vary. Sample answer: When I act confidently, even when lost, I will appear to know where I am going. Carrying identification and contact information can bring help faster. There is safety in numbers, so I should use the buddy system when possible. I should avoid isolated areas by using well-traveled routes. This will keep me aware of my surroundings. I should trust my instincts and leave dangerous situations.

4. If you feel rejected, you can share your feelings with a family member or friend, and listen to advice. Be kind to yourself and appreciate yourself. Evaluate your behavior.
