Review Key Concepts
1. Society is a group of people who develop patterns of relationships by being around one another. Children learn to be a part of society from skills taught by their families.

2. Families have different home atmospheres, traditions, rituals, and values.

3. Answers should include two of the following: Some couples do not have children or have them later in life. Others raise grandchildren in the middle years or retirement stages. Couples might divorce. Some adult children move back in with their parents. Retirement age couples may continue to work.

4. Your response should include information about the necessary qualifications for one to adopt or become a foster parent, as well as the procedures.

5. Questions should focus on the stages of the life cycle.

Review Key Concepts
1. Answers should include five of the following tips: Set a date and time when every member can attend. Appoint a meeting leader. Give everyone a chance to voice concerns and suggestions without interruption. Avoid the blame game. Make meetings fun.

2. Sibling rivalry is competition for parents’ love and attention. Resist keeping track of gifts, privileges, and compliments to avoid it.

3. Family relationships can last a lifetime. People need the support, love, and friendship of their family members.

Practice Academic Skills
4. Your letter should be written from the viewpoint of an adult and should effectively explain reasons for making a decision or taking an action that the teen thinks is unfair, such as setting an early curfew.

<p>5. Your scenes should portray rivalry between siblings that may reflect a desire for attention from parents.
