The United States and Canada are home to many regional cuisines that reflect a variety of influences from around the globe. Many cultures have put down roots in the United States, contributing new flavors and foods. The six regions of the United States are characterized by their unique cuisines. Canadian food also reflects the cuisines of its many immigrants. Each of its provinces has distinctive foods and dishes. In both the United States and Canada, the food traditions of native people blended with those of settlers.
