Chapter Summary

A variety of beverages are available. Water is a healthful beverage and is available bottled or from the tap. Juices are made from fruits and vegetables. Juices and juice drinks can be bought or made at home. Coffee can be bought in many forms and should be stored properly to maintain freshness. Tea comes from a tropical plant, is sold in various forms, and may be brewed and served in different ways. Dairy-based beverages include smoothies, hot chocolate, and hot cocoa. Soft drinks are sweet, carbonated beverages best consumed sparingly. Punch is a mixture of fruit juices and other ingredients.
