A persuasive speech is an attempt to convince an audience to believe in and then act upon an idea. Politicians often try to persuade citizens to support their ideas or causes. In the speech you are about to listen to, Winston Churchill tries to persuade Britain of the danger Germany poses and the need to act upon that threat.
