Introduction
An interview is a powerful tool used to gather information about a person or subject. It can also be very entertaining and interesting if the interviewer asks the right questions and allows the interview to flow naturally. In an interview with Dr. Maya Angelou, the interviewer was able to learn firsthand about her experiences and ideas.

Directions:
Read the interview and answer the following questions.

1			Did the interviewers seem well-prepared for the interview? How can you tell?
2			Give two examples of open-ended questions the interviewers asked.
3			Did the interviewers ask any follow-up questions? If you had conducted the interview, where would you have asked a follow-up question?
