Introduction
In this lesson, you learned about Aesop's fables and read "The Ant and the Dove." Go to the Internet to read another fable and try to guess the definitions of words from the context in which they are used.

Directions Start at http://www.bartleby.com.

  • Find the Fiction category in the right-hand column.
  • Click on the arrows next to Select fiction.
  • Choose Aesop.
  • Scroll down and click on Fables under Work.
  • Click on and read number 12: "The Swallow and the Other Birds."
  • Follow the directions below.
  • When you are finished writing your definitions, compare them to the definitions in a dictionary.
