If you want to make a difference in your state, run for state legislator. State legislators are politicians. They shape policy that impacts people and communities. They craft bills that might one day become laws. The election process is not easy. It costs money and there will be many nights when you will be on the road campaigning. You need a "thick skin" because sometimes your opposition might say something about you that is misleading or not true. Politicians are always being watched, so you will have to be prepared to be in the spotlight all the time.
