Chapter 32: Extended Product Features

eMarketing Feature

Mobile Alerts Extended product features now include many online services such as mobile alerts. Mobile alerts are messages sent to customers via their mobile phone to tell them about something important. For example, airlines send mobile alerts when there is a change in flight times and banks send mobile alerts when a customer's balance is low or when a direct deposit has been made in the customer's account. Customers can opt in to mobile alerts for the purpose of learning about new products, special promotions, and other offers. Mobile phone companies offer mobile alerts sent by the government in case of terrorist acts, weather disasters, and Amber alerts. Mobile phone customers can opt out from receiving those alerts. Search engine providers, such as Yahoo! and Google offer mobile alerts as well for stock quotes, weather, horoscope information, sports, and a lot more.
